Week 6: Deepening Processing & Unburdening
Welcome to Week 6 of our EMDR & Parts Work Group Therapy journey! This week marks a significant milestone as we move into deeper processing and unburdening work.
Last week, you began the courageous work of witnessing your exiled parts. This week, we'll go deeper, allowing those parts to release the burdens they've been carrying for so long.

What to Expect This Week
Extended EMDR Processing
We'll engage in longer processing sessions, working with more significant trauma targets. You'll have the opportunity to go deeper with your healing work.
Unburdening Your Exiled Parts
Learn to facilitate the release of pain, shame, and trauma that your exiled parts have been carrying. This is powerful, transformative work.
"Do-Over" & "Updating" Techniques
Practice reimagining past events with resources you have now, and help younger parts understand they're safe in the present.
Managing Protective Parts
Learn to work with parts that may be blocking deeper healing, honoring their protective intentions while gaining permission to move forward.
🌟 How to Prepare
Get adequate rest the night before
Eat a nourishing meal before the session
Review your Safe/Calm Place and grounding techniques
Identify the trauma target you'd like to work on
Check in with your protective parts and ask for their cooperation
Bring water and any comfort items that help you feel grounded

Stay within your Window of Tolerance
Trust your protective parts - they're keeping you safe

Daily Self-to-parts check-ins (5-10 minutes)
