I'm looking forward to our week 4 session, where we will delve into a crucial topic for all healing and anyone navigating the demands of modern life: The Somatics of Burnout & Self-Care.

This lecture will explore how our bodies hold stress and vicarious trauma, and how we can cultivate deeper self-care and resilience. We'll cover:

  • Understanding Burnout & Vicarious Trauma: How empathy can lead us to absorb others' stress, and the physical, mental, and emotional impacts of burnout. We'll discuss key questions like "Are you observing or absorbing?" and "Are you caring or carrying?"

  • The Nervous System & Window of Tolerance: An exploration of our sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, and how understanding your "Window of Tolerance" can empower you to regulate your responses.

  • .Practical Strategies for Managing Drained Feelings: We'll share actionable tips for breaking negative thought cycles, setting boundaries, managing energy, and cultivating self-kindness.
